Sefar is an ancient troglodyte city located in the heart of the Tassili n'Ajjer mountain range, in the Sahara desert. Nicknamed «the city of stones», it is the largest troglodyte city in the world, composed of thousands of fossilized houses.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it houses an incredible open-air museum of prehistoric art with thousands of drawings, engravings and rock paintings dating back over 12,000 years.
These works represent scenes of hunting, animals and everyday life, testifying to the ancient history of the region.
Access to Sefar is difficult, being done only on foot through steep paths, offering visitors a unique and immersive experience in an exceptional desert environment, where wild animals like gazelles and ibex can be seen.
